How Much Fabric Do I Need for Curtains?

A simple yardage guide for measuring windows and choosing fullness, so you order exactly the right cut.

Measure the window, then add fullness

Curtains need 1.5 to 2.5 times the window width in fabric for a gathered look. Measure from the rod to where you want the hem to fall, add 8 inches for hems and headers, then multiply by your fullness factor.

Order a little extra

Pattern repeats eat yardage — add one full repeat per panel. When in doubt, our 0.25-yard ordering steps make it easy to round up without waste.

Cut to order, just like the shop

Every order is cut fresh from the bolt, exactly like our in-store cutting counter. Your yardage arrives as one continuous cut whenever possible.
